The goal of this project was to redesign a book cover using only typography to express the mood, concept, and/or theme of the book. I chose the book, Falling Up by Shel Silverstein.

I focused on things that float or fly. 

I did not expect the shadows to look the way it did and definitely wanted to incorporate it into the book cover. However, I also liked the simplicity of the cut out text. I was torn between the two, but I felt that both weren't as powerful when standing alone.

I decided to combine the two. After getting feedback from the class, I got a different perspective and decided to utilize the angle of "falling" to guide the eye without it reading "up falling."
